Accessibility Statement
The operator of this platform is committed to making digital learning content for the German Class B driving license accessible to all people — regardless of physical, sensory, or cognitive impairments, and across all devices (desktop PC, laptop, tablet, or smartphone).
Our standards are the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Conformance Level AA and European Standard EN 301 549. This statement complies with the German Accessibility Strengthening Act (BFSG) and the Accessible Information Technology Ordinance (BITV 2.0).
Cross-Device Accessibility (Desktop & Mobile)
Touchscreen & Smartphone Optimization: On smartphones and tablets, all buttons, answer cards, and navigation elements feature generous touch targets (at least 44 × 44 pixels pursuant to Apple HIG and WCAG 2.5.5 / 2.5.8). This reliably prevents accidental clicks on small touch displays.
Fluid Scaling & Zoom (WCAG 1.4.10 Reflow): The user interface adapts dynamically to all screen widths (from compact 320px mobile screens to large desktop monitors). Text and controls can be enlarged up to 200% - 300% using native browser pinch-to-zoom without horizontal scrolling or content clipping.
Flexible Screen Orientation: The website supports both portrait and landscape modes on tablets and smartphones with zero forced orientation locks.
Full Keyboard Navigation on Desktop: Every learning unit and exam simulation can be navigated without a mouse. Use the Tab key for logical tab order, arrow keys (← / →) to slide through questions, and Space/Enter to select options. A high-contrast focus ring (:focus-visible) always highlights the active element. A 'Skip to main content' link is available at the very top.
Visual Accessibility & Screen Reader Support
High Contrast & Dark Mode: Color contrasts strictly adhere to WCAG 2.1 AA specifications (minimum 4.5:1 for body copy). The built-in dark mode prevents glare and relieves eye strain during evening study sessions.
Information Not Dependent Solely on Color: Color-blind learners face no barriers. Correct answers, obligations, and prohibitions are never conveyed purely by green or red, but always accompanied by distinct icons (checkmarks ✓, crosses ✕) and clear textual badges (WCAG 1.4.1).
Screen Reader Compatibility: Structured with semantic HTML5 elements and ARIA attributes (aria-expanded, aria-controls, aria-live), the platform is fully accessible with NVDA, JAWS, Apple VoiceOver, and Android TalkBack. All 188 official German StVO traffic signs include detailed alternative text descriptions.
Cognitive Accessibility & Clear Explanations
Self-Paced Learning: Lessons and topic quizzes have no time limits, letting you study at your own comfortable pace. The 45-minute TÜV/DEKRA exam simulator can be paused, restarted, or reviewed at any time.
Plain Driving Instructor Phrasing & Multilingual Support: Explanations are drafted in direct, short sentences, avoiding bureaucratic jargon. English and Vietnamese translations are provided to dismantle language barriers and foster genuine understanding of German traffic rules.
Known Limitations
Embedded third-party ads (Google AdSense) are loaded dynamically and are not completely within our technical control. Linked external statutory legal documents (gesetze-im-internet.de) are administered independently by German federal authorities.
